EDGE VENTURES PARENT / GUARDIAN TERMS &
CONDITIONS
Applicable to:
Schedule A : EDGE Ventures X Bear Grylls Survival Academy
(Schedule A)
Schedule B : EDGE Leadership Academy (Schedule B)
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the
enrolment of a child and/or participant (the “Student”)
in the programmes offered by EDGE Future Leaders Investment LLC
(“EDGE”) and described in the Schedules to these Terms,
including the EDGE Ventures x Bear Grylls Survival Academy and the EDGE
Leadership Academy (each a “Programme”).
By enrolling a Student in a Programme, , the parent or legal guardian
(“you” or “Parent/Guardian”) agrees to
be bound by these Terms and Conditions on their own behalf and on behalf
of the Student.
Programme-Specific Terms. Part A applies to all
Programmes. Each Programme also has its own Schedule setting out the
terms that apply specifically to that Programme: Schedule A applies to
the Survival Academy and Schedule B applies to the Leadership Academy.
Part A applies together with the applicable Schedule for the Programme
in which the Student is enrolled. Where there is any conflict or
inconsistency between Part A and an applicable Schedule, the Schedule
shall prevail in respect of that Programme.
PART A - GENERAL TERMS (ALL PROGRAMMES)
1. Participation and Higher-Risk Activities
Participation in a Programme may involve physical, outdoor,
adventure-based or other activities which carry inherent risks that
cannot be entirely eliminated, even where appropriate supervision,
instruction, equipment and safety procedures are in place. The nature
and level of risk will vary depending on the relevant Programme and
activity.
Certain activities may involve an increased degree of physical or
other risk, including activities involving heights, harnesses, water,
climbing, outdoor survival activities or such other activities as EDGE
may identify as requiring specific consent (each a “Higher-Risk
Activity”).
A Student shall not participate in a Higher-Risk Activity unless
the Parent/Guardian has been provided with reasonable information
regarding the nature of the activity and any material participation
requirements and has provided separate express consent to the Student’s
participation in that activity. EDGE may require such consent through
the booking process, an activity-specific consent form or such other
written or electronic means as EDGE reasonably determines.
By consenting to a Student’s participation in a Higher-Risk
Activity, the Parent/Guardian acknowledges that:
the activity carries inherent risks which cannot be entirely
eliminated;
the Student must comply with all reasonable safety instructions,
briefings and participation requirements communicated by EDGE, the
School, instructors or any relevant third-party activity
provider;
the Parent/Guardian must disclose any medical condition, injury,
allergy, medication, disability or other circumstance which may
reasonably affect the Student’s safe participation and must update that
information if circumstances change; and
EDGE, the School, an instructor or a relevant third-party
provider may prevent, suspend or discontinue the Student’s participation
where reasonably considered necessary for the Student’s safety or the
safety of others.
EDGE may impose additional age, height, weight, swimming ability,
fitness, medical clearance, competence, clothing, equipment or other
participation requirements for a Higher-Risk Activity where reasonably
necessary for safety or required by the relevant facility, activity
provider, insurer or Applicable Law.
Nothing in this Section constitutes a waiver of, or excludes or
limits, any liability or right that cannot lawfully be excluded or
limited.
2. Enrolment and Registration
Enrolment is via the applicable EDGE booking channel and relates
to the school at which the relevant Programme is delivered (the
“School”).
A Student's place does not automatically carry forward between
terms, except that a Student enrolled for a full academic year has their
place reserved for the following term without needing to re-book,
subject to fees being paid in line with Section 4.
For Students under 18, a Parent/Guardian must complete
registration and provide the consents set out in this document before
the Student's first session.
Enrolment is confirmed only on receipt of full payment (or an
approved instalment arrangement) via the relevant payment
channel.
EDGE and the School reserve the right to refuse, limit, or defer
enrolment where reasonably necessary, including on the grounds of
capacity, tier/age suitability, safety or the medical and fitness
declaration in Section 3.
Students may join a Programme after a term has started and EDGE
will work with a mid-term joiner where reasonably possible to help them
catch up on missed content, but no guarantees can be made where
completion of sections of learning or external certificates depends on
third parties. Enquiries about mid-term joining should be made directly
to EDGE using the contact details in Section 19 first.
3. Medical History, Fitness and Emergency
Authorisation
Parents/Guardians must disclose, at the point of booking, any
medical conditions, allergies, injuries, medication, or mobility
considerations relevant to the Student's safe participation.
Each Programme may carry its own additional fitness, competence,
or health requirements (for example swim competence for water-based
modules, or fitness for height/harness-based activity). These are set
out in the relevant Schedule and must be confirmed before the Student
takes part in the affected activity.
Participation in the Programmes involves physical activity that
carries inherent risk that cannot be entirely removed by instructor
supervision and safety protocols. The Parent/Guardian confirms, to the
best of their knowledge and having made the disclosures required under
this Section, that the Student is physically fit to participate in the
relevant Programme activities.
An inaccurate or incomplete declaration under this Section may
result in the Student's suspension or removal from the Programme where
reasonably necessary for the Student’s safety. Anyrefund or credit in
those circumstances will be determined in accordance with Sections 4 and
15 and applicable law.
EDGE, the School, or a delivery partner may require written
medical clearance before a Student is permitted to (re)join a session
following illness, injury, or a flagged medical condition.
Where the Student withdraws on medical grounds, the
Parent/Guardian shall provide a valid medical certificate by email. Any
refund or credit will be determined in accordance with Section 15,
except where otherwise required by applicable law.
In the event of a medical emergency during a session, the
Parent/Guardian authorises EDGE, the School, and the delivering
instructors to seek emergency medical treatment and/or ambulance
transport for the Student, and to act on the Parent/Guardian's behalf
where they cannot reasonably be contacted in time, with reasonable costs
incurred to be reimbursed by the Parent/Guardian.
4. Fees and Payment
Payment Terms
• Fees are payable in advance of each term or, for a Programme
delivered as a single event, in full at the point of booking, unless
otherwise agreed in writing under an approved instalment plan.
• Late payment may result in temporary suspension of the Student's
place pending settlement.
• Any equipment, kit, offsite module costs, VAT or other mandatory
charges not included in the standard fee will be clearly disclosed
before payment and charged separately, as applicable.
• EDGE reserves the right to revise fees for future terms or future
events with 20 days' prior notice. Fees already confirmed for a current
term or a booked event will not be revised.
• All invoices and billing information are issued electronically.
• By enrolling or booking, you acknowledge that all scheduled
instalments become due in accordance with the agreed payment schedule,
irrespective of attendance, except where otherwise required by law or
expressly agreed in writing by EDGE. Nothing in these Terms prevents a
Parent/Guardian from raising a bona fide payment dispute or exercising
any rights available under applicable law or the relevant payment-card
rules. Where a chargeback is obtained in respect of a valid and properly
authorised payment without a valid basis, the contractual debt remains
outstanding and EDGE reserves the right to recover the balance together
with reasonable administration, legal and recovery costs, to the extent
permitted by applicable law.
Registration Fees
A non-refundable registration fee of AED 150 applies per Student
enrolment, across all Survival Academy and Leadership Academy enrolment
routes. Holiday camps and pop ups (e.g fast track survival) that do not
issue kit and equipment such as fast track survival do not require
registration fees. Leadership premium weeks do not require a
registration fee as this is included in the ticket price.
The platform caps the registration fee at AED 300 per family per
year
Refunds — Recurring and Termly Programmes
Applies to a Programme billed and delivered across multiple sessions
in a term — for example School-delivered sessions, after-school modules,
and Hub-Club.
• A Parent/Guardian may withdraw a Student at any time. Fees paid for
the current term are refundable on a pro-rata basis up to the end of the
third session of that term; after the third session, fees already paid
are non-refundable, save at EDGE's discretion in exceptional
circumstances or where otherwise required by applicable law.
• No refunds are issued for missed sessions or non-attendance while a
Student remains enrolled.
• If, after registration, a Student is unable to attend because of a
scheduling conflict with another activity, no refund or credit will be
due solely for that reason. EDGE will use reasonable endeavours to offer
a make-up session where reasonably practicable.
Refunds — Single-Event and Pop-Up Programmes
Applies to a Programme delivered as a single booked event rather than
across a term — for example the Leadership Academy 5-day intensive or a
Fast Track Survival pop-up.
• A refund request may be made up to 14 days after payment or up to
14 days before the event start date, whichever is earlier; after that
point fees already paid are non-refundable, save at EDGE's discretion in
exceptional circumstances (for example a medical withdrawal under
Section 3) or where otherwise required by applicable law. Where EDGE
agrees a credit in place of a refund, that credit may only be used
against a future EDGE Programme.
Cancellation, Delay or Change by EDGE
• Where a session or event is cancelled by EDGE, the School, or the
delivering instructor or partner, EDGE will offer a make-up session, an
alternative date, or a credit. If a reasonable replacement cannot be
provided within a reasonable period, EDGE will offer a refund for the
affected session or event, or such other remedy as may be required by
applicable law.
• In the event of force majeure or venue closure, sessions or events
may be rescheduled or, where appropriate, delivered in an alternative
format without fee adjustment. Where an affected session or event cannot
reasonably be rescheduled or replaced, EDGE will offer a credit or
refund to the extent required by applicable law.
• EDGE is not responsible for non-payment or delays by third-party
organisers, or for cancellations by external partners.
Discounts and Promotional Codes
• Discount and promotional codes must be applied at the time of
booking and before payment is completed. No refunds, credits, price
adjustments, or retroactive discounts will be provided where a code was
not applied at the time of registration and payment.
Refund Process
• Refund requests must be submitted in writing to EDGE using the
contact details in Section 19, and will be reviewed and, where approved
or required by applicable law, processed within a reasonable period.
EDGE will notify the Parent/Guardian of the outcome.
Breach and Recovery
• Where a Parent/Guardian materially breaches these Terms, EDGE may
seek to recover reasonable legal or recovery costs actually and
necessarily incurred as a direct result of that breach, to the extent
permitted by applicable law.
5. Conduct and Behaviour Policy
Respectful, safe behaviour toward instructors, staff, and fellow
Students is mandatory. Bullying, harassment, or unsafe conduct is
strictly prohibited.
EDGE operates a conduct policy under which a Student who
seriously or repeatedly breaches safety or behavioural expectations may
be suspended or removed from the Programme. Where removal results from
the Student’s serious or repeated breach, fees already paid will be
non-refundable except where otherwise required by applicable
law.
EDGE and the School retain final decision-making authority on
suspension, removal, tier progression, and re-admission.
6. Attendance and Session Changes
Regular attendance is expected to support progress towards
accreditations and awards. EDGE and the School will use reasonable
endeavours to help a Student catch up on missed content, but missed
sessions are not guaranteed to be rescheduled.
EDGE reserves the right to change instructors, merge or cancel
sessions, and adjust, relocate, or postpone outdoor or off-site sessions
where reasonably necessary for safety, including heat, sandstorm, or
air-quality conditions.
In the event of force majeure or venue closure, sessions may be
rescheduled or, where appropriate, delivered in an alternative format
without fee adjustment. Where an affected session cannot reasonably be
rescheduled or replaced, EDGE will offer a credit or refund for that
sessions to the extent required by applicable law.
7. Equipment and Kit
Students must follow EDGE's dress and uniform guidelines and wear
any issued EDGE clothing when required.
Durable programme equipment is provided by EDGE/School for the
duration of the Programme and remains EDGE/School property.
Students are expected to bring any personal kit items specified
in the joining instructions for their Programme and tier.
Students may be required to purchase official EDGE equipment or
consumables for expeditions, intensives, or activities outside the
standard school timetable; this will be clearly communicated in
advance.
8. Liability Disclaimer
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability to the
extent that it cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including
liability for fraud or wilful misconduct and any liability for death or
personal injury that cannot lawfully be excluded. Nothing in these Terms
affects any mandatory rights or remedies available to a consumer under
applicable UAE law.
The Programmes involve physically active elements, some outdoors
and some off-site. Participation is undertaken with appropriate
instructor supervision and safety protocol, but inherent risk cannot be
entirely eliminated.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, EDGE, the
School, and delivering instructors are not liable for loss of or damage
to personal belongings, except to the extent directly caused by their
negligence or breach, or for cancellations and disruptions beyond their
reasonable control (including government restrictions, venue issues, or
weather). EDGE will also not be responsible for any loss, injury or
disruption to the extent caused by a Student's failure to follow
reasonable safety instructions or a Parent/Guardian's failure to
disclose information required under Section 3.
Where an element of a Programme is delivered at, or by, a
third-party facility or provider, that facility or provider is
responsible for its own premises, equipment, qualified staff, and safety
protocols under its own insurance, as further described in the relevant
Schedule. Nothing in this paragraph excludes EDGE’s own obligations
under these Terms or applicable law.
9. Insurance
EDGE maintains public liability and personal accident insurance
in connection with the Programmes, subject to the terms, limis and
exclusions of the applicable policies.
This insurance does not replace the Parent/Guardian's own health
or medical insurance for the Student, which remains the
Parent/Guardian's responsibility.
Details of EDGE's insurance cover are available on request by
contacting EDGE using the details in Section 19.
10. Safeguarding and Child Protection
EDGE is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of
all Students in accordance with UAE Federal Law No. 3 of 2016 Concerning
Child Rights (‘Wadeema's Law’).
All instructors and third party delivery partners engaged by EDGE
in delivering a Programme are required to comply with EDGE's Child
Protection and Safeguarding Policy, a copy of which is available on
request. School staff remain subject to the School’s applicable
safeguarding and child protection policies and applicable law.
Any safeguarding concern relating to a Student should be raised
immediately using the contact details in Section 19, or directly with
the School's own child protection lead.
11. Photography, Filming and Brand Consent
EDGE and the School may photograph or film sessions where
reasonably necessary for safeguarding, incident management, quality
assurance or internal record-keeping purposes, in accordance with
applicable law and EDGE's Privacy Notice. Such images or recordings will
not be used for marketing without the relevant consent and will be
retained only for as long as reasonably necessary in accordance with the
applicable retention requirements.
Separately, Parents/Guardians are asked to give explicit consent
(Yes/No) at the point of booking for their child's image to be used in
EDGE and School marketing. Marketing consent may be withdrawn
prospectively by contacting EDGE using the details in Section
19.
12. Intellectual Property
The curriculum, EDGE branding, and the names, marks, and
materials of EDGE's programme partners (including the Bear Grylls / BGSA
marks and as applicable to the relevant Programmes/Academy) remain the
property of their respective owners.
Students and parents may not reproduce, distribute, or use
materials for commercial purposes without consent.
13. Record Keeping and Data
EDGE is a data controller in respect of the personal data it
collects and processes in connection with enrolment, attendance,
assessment, medical declarations and consents for the Programmes. The
School and third-party delivery partners may also process personal data
as processors or independent controllers depending on their role, as
further described in EDGE's Privacy Notice.
Data necessary for safe delivery (e.g. medical declarations,
attendance) is shared with delivering instructors, the School, and any
third-party delivery partner on a need-to-know basis.
Payment details are processed securely through the applicable
payment provider. EDGE does not itself store full payment-card details
and personal data is shared with payment and other service providers
only as reasonably necessary for the relevant purposes described in
EDGE’s Privacy Notice.
Personal data, including health and medical information, is
processed in accordance with UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on
the Protection of Personal Data and EDGE’s Privacy Notice, available on
EDGE’s website. Subject to applicable law, Parents/Guardians may
exercise applicable data-protection rights, including requesting access
to, or correction of, and where applicable, deletion of their and the
Student's personal data by contacting EDGE using the details in Section
19. Records are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for
Programme delivery, safeguarding, legal orregulatory requirements and
the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
14. Complaints and Grievance Procedure
Parents/Guardians with a concern about a Programme are encouraged
to raise it in the first instance with the delivering
instructor.
Where a concern is not resolved informally, a Parent/Guardian may
submit a written complaint to EDGE using the contact details in Section
19. EDGE will aim to acknowledge a written complaint within 5 working
days and provide a substantive response within 15 working days.
15. Termination and Disciplinary Action
A Parent/Guardian may withdraw a Student from a Programme at any
time. Refunds on withdrawal are handled in accordance with Section
4.
EDGE reserves the right to suspend or terminate a Student's
enrolment for non-payment, serious or repeated misconduct, a material
breach of these Terms, or where reasonably necessary, on medical/fitness
grounds under Section 3 to protect the Student or others. No refund will
be due where termination results from non-payment, serious or repeated
misconduct or a material breach by the Parent/Guardian or Student,
except where otherwise required by applicable law. Any refund or credit
arising from termination on medical or fitness grounds will be
determined in accordance with Section 3 and Section 4.
16. Parent/Guardian Responsibilities
Ensure timely payment of fees.
Provide a complete and accurate medical and fitness declaration,
and update it promptly if circumstances change.
Support attendance, punctuality, and appropriate kit for each
session.
Inform EDGE/School promptly of any absence, injury, or medical
development relevant to the Student's participation.
17. Governing Law and Regulatory Compliance
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Emirate of Dubai and
the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates, as applied in the Emirate
of Dubai. Subject to any mandatory rights available to consumers under
applicable law, the courts of Dubai shall have jurisdiction in relation
to any dispute arising out of or in connection with these
Terms.
EDGE operates its Programmes in accordance with the requirements
of the Ministry of Education and any other governmental or regulatory
authority responsible for licensing, regulating or overseeing the
relevant School or Programme in the Emirate in which that Programme is
delivered (the “Education Regulator”)

SCHEDULE A - EDGE VENTURES X BEAR GRYLLS SURVIVAL
ACADEMY
This Schedule applies in addition to Part A for any Student enrolled
in the Survival Academy, however it is delivered — on School premises,
or off-campus, for example as a Hub-Club or as a pop-up event such as
Fast Track Survival (see Section A7).
A1. Programme-Specific Definitions
| Term |
Meaning |
| BGSA |
Bear Grylls Survival Academy, whose curriculum and brand are
licensed to EDGE under applicable licensing arrangements. |
| EDGE Ventures X Bear Grylls Survival Academy / the Survival
Academy |
The survival-skills curriculum described in this Schedule, delivered
by EDGE under licence from BGSA. |
| ESAI |
An EDGE Survival Academy Instructor - a School-employed teacher
trained and certified by EDGE/BGSA under the Train-the-Trainer (TTT)
model to deliver the Survival Academy. For Hub-Club delivery (Section
A7), an ESAI is an EDGE-engaged instructor who is so trained and
certified. |
| Hub-Club |
A Survival Academy club delivered by EDGE at a Hub Venue away from
School premises, on a termly basis, following the five Survival Academy
tiers. |
| Hub Venue |
The community, leisure, outdoor or activity venue at which a
Hub-Club is delivered, whether operated by EDGE or by a third-party
Venue Operator. |
| Venue Operator |
Where the Hub Venue is operated by a third party, that
operator. |
A2. The Survival Academy
• The Survival Academy is delivered across five curriculum tiers by
Key Stage: Foragers (KS1), Grazers (KS2), Hunters (KS3), Leaders (KS4),
and Guardians (KS5).
• Sessions are delivered on School premises (or an approved offsite
location for specific modules), or off-campus — for example as a
Hub-Club or a pop-up event such as Fast Track Survival — at the approved
venue for that delivery, by ESAIs under the EDGE/BGSA curriculum.
• Curriculum content, session structure and progression criteria are
set by EDGE in partnership with BGSA and may be updated between
terms.
A3. Water Competence Declaration
• Where a module involves water-based activity, the Parent/Guardian
must confirm the Student's swim competence (water-confident for ages
4–6; able to swim 25m unassisted for ages 11+) before the Student is
permitted to take part in that module.
A4. Accreditation
• Where a Student meets the relevant progression and attendance
criteria, the Survival Academy works towards the Bear Grylls Survival
Academy Awards (Bronze to Platinum). Award of any external certificate
depends on the accrediting body and cannot be guaranteed by EDGE
alone.
A5. Kit
• Students are expected to bring the personal kit specified in the
joining instructions for their tier (e.g. suitable outdoor clothing,
closed-toe shoes, water bottle).
A6. Intellectual Property
• The Bear Grylls / BGSA name and marks and the Survival Academy
curriculum remain the property of their respective owners and are used
by EDGE under license.
A7. Off-Campus Delivery
The following apply wherever the Survival Academy is delivered
otherwise than on School premises — for example as a Hub-Club or as a
pop-up event such as Fast Track Survival, and however any future
Survival Academy product is delivered off-campus (each, an “Off-Campus
Delivery”). Where a Student is enrolled in an Off-Campus Delivery,
references in this Schedule and in Part A to “the School” (as venue,
co-supervisor or safeguarding route) do not apply, and EDGE — and, where
relevant, the Venue Operator — fulfil the equivalent functions.
A7.1 Enrolment, Registration and Fees
• An Off-Campus Delivery is open to Students enrolled directly by a
Parent/Guardian, from any school or none, subject to tier and age
suitability and to availability. The format (for example a recurring
termly club or a single pop-up event), and the venue, dates and session
structure, are confirmed at the point of booking and in the joining
instructions for that Off-Campus Delivery.
• The registration fee, other fees, and refunds for an Off-Campus
Delivery are set out in full in Part A, Section 4.
A7.2 Arrival, Collection and Duty of Care
• EDGE's duty of care for a Student begins when the Student is signed
in to a session and ends when the Student is signed out at the end of
that session. It does not extend to any period before sign-in or after
sign-out, or to travel to and from the venue.
• The Parent/Guardian is responsible for drop-off and collection at
the venue at the times set out in the joining instructions, and must
provide at booking the names of adults authorised to collect the
Student. EDGE may decline to release a Student to any adult not on that
list or whose identity cannot be verified.
• A Student may only sign out and leave unaccompanied where the
Parent/Guardian has given specific written consent and the Student meets
the minimum age stated in the joining instructions.
• If a Student is not collected by the end of a session and no
authorised adult can be reached, EDGE will continue to supervise the
Student and follow its late-collection and safeguarding procedures. A
late-collection charge may apply, as disclosed at booking.
A7.3 Capacity, Ratios and Registers
• Every session, including any casual drop-in session where offered,
is capped to the applicable supervision ratio and to the safe capacity
of the venue. The ratio and cap that apply to a given Off-Campus
Delivery are set out in the joining instructions.
• Where offered, drop-in sessions must be booked in advance and are
not guaranteed. EDGE operates a sign-in / sign-out register and takes a
roll-call at every session.
A7.4 Venue, Safety and Safeguarding
• Where the venue is operated by a third-party Venue Operator, that
operator is responsible for its own premises, equipment, and premises
safety and insurance. Students and Parents/Guardians must follow the
Venue Operator's rules and safety briefings in addition to EDGE's. EDGE
remains responsible for delivering and supervising the programme at the
venue.
• Outdoor sessions are subject to Part A, Section 6 — EDGE may
adjust, relocate or postpone sessions where reasonably necessary for
safety, including heat, sandstorm or air-quality conditions.
• Because an Off-Campus Delivery is delivered away from a School,
EDGE is the safeguarding lead for it. All EDGE instructors and any
venue-based delivery staff are subject to EDGE's Child Protection and
Safeguarding Policy and to safer-recruitment checks. Any safeguarding
concern should be raised immediately with EDGE using the contact details
in Part A, Section 19.
• Where an Off-Campus Delivery includes a Higher-Risk Activity (as
defined in Part A, Section 1), the consent process in that Section
applies, and EDGE may implement it through a separate activity- or
venue-specific waiver at the point of booking or checkout, in addition
to this Schedule.
A7.5 Medical, First Aid and Conduct
• The medical, fitness and emergency-authorisation provisions in Part
A, Section 3, apply, and a qualified first-aider is present at each
session. Parents/Guardians must not send a Student who is unwell or
infectious; EDGE may decline participation or ask that a Student be
collected where reasonably necessary for the Student's or others'
safety.
• Part A, Section 5 (Conduct) applies. Because an Off-Campus Delivery
is attended directly rather than through a School, EDGE holds sole
authority over suspension, removal, tier progression and re-admission at
an Off-Campus Delivery.
